Minnesota 5, Alaska-Anchorage 1: The Gophers had scored three goals in their first four games. They erupted for 5 tonight including a pair of shorthanded goals, both by co-captain Tony Lucia. Zach Budish got his first career goal in the win as well.
BU 5, Lowell 4 (OT): For an idea of how crazy this game was, check out INCH writer Jeff Howe’s twitter feed. It seems whenever these two get together, wildness ensues. David Warsofsky had two goals for the Terriers, and Kieran Millan made 32 saves.
Harvard 5, Dartmouth 3: Louis LeBlanc had his first career collegiate goal as Harvard [...]

Division Three Poll Released
There probably won’t be too much D3 talk on here, but I figured what the heck for the preseason poll. Defending national champion Neumann got the most first place votes, but it is Plattsburgh who starts the year at number 1. In all, 8 of the 15 ranked teams got at least one 1st place vote, including #12 Manhattanville.
Two Wisconsin schools (UW-Stout and UW-Superior) are ranked 3rd and 4th respectively, while River Falls and Stevens Point each received votes. Minnesota school Gustavus Adolphus, who lost the national title game last year, is 10th. Adrian, whose conference (the MCHA) finally has [...]

Bonino Out One Month
Boston University forward Nick Bonino is sidelined for a month after suffering a separated shoulder. The Junior from Unionville, Connecticut has played 3 games for the Terriers this year without registering a point. Coming into the year he was expected to be the load carrier for Jack Parker’s offense.

TCHB Power Rankings: Stasis
Last week we saw a lot of movement at the top, but our top four teams stay the same this week, even though 2 of them lost a game.
1. Miami (4-1-1) (1-1-0) No Change
The RedHawks get a struggling Northern Michigan team up next, but they did lose to a struggling Michigan State team this weekend.
2. North Dakota (4-1-1) (2-1-1) No Change
The Sioux get their first loss of the season, but Freshman Aaron Dell got a shutout in his first career start on Friday, plus he notched an assist. Where would he be in Minnesota’s scoring leaders?
3. Denver (4-2-0) (2-0-0) No [...]
Lighting The Lamp
If you do nothing else for me today, watch this video. (NSFW)
Air Force 3, RIT 2: Andrew Volkening made 28 saves and Danny Durham had a goal and an assist as Air Force got their first two wins of the season, keeping RIT winless.
Denver 3, Minnesota 0: What is going on in Minneapolis? The Gopher offense has been absolutely anemic this year. Kyle Ostrow had 2 goals for Denver.
BU 3, Michigan 2: Zach and Colby Cohen each scored for the Terriers, Kieran Millan made 33 saves, and Joe Pereira scored the GWG with just under 3 minutes left in the [...]
Lighting The Lamp
Tons of good games out there last night, let’s hop right to it.
Merrimack 5, Vermont 2: Reigning player of the week Stephane Da Costa didn’t register a point, but Francois Ouimet had a goal and an assist and Joe Cannata made 25 saves to get Merrimack a huge Hockey East win.
Boston College 3, Notre Dame 2: Joe Whitney got the game winner at 11:30 of the 3rd period, and John Muse had 20 saves to defeat the Irish, who now have 3 defeats in 3 weekends. Calle Ridderwall and Ben Ryan had the goals for Notre Dame.
North Dakota 5, Alaska-Anchorage [...]
To say Atlantic Hockey has had a rough stretch to start the season would be an understatement. They are a combined 1-23 so far, with the lone win coming when Canisius beat Ferris State on October 10th. According to USCHO’s Chris Lerch, this week is the first in the poll’s history when no Atlantic Hockey team is even mentioned. A year after opening the year 13-0, Air Force is 0-4 with the core of their team back.
Both RIT and Air Force come into Friday’s contest looking for their first win of the season. RIT outshot St. Lawrence, 43-20, and Clarkson, [...]
