BU 4, Merrimack 2: With Charlie Coyle and Corey Trivino gone, the Terriers have some serious Ewing Theory potential to borrow a Bill Simmons term. BU got four goals from four different Terriers, and Adam Clendening had an assist in his first game back from World Juniors. Josh Myers had his first goal of the year for Merrimack. Miami 2, Michigan State 1: Connor Knapp stopped 33 of Michigan State’s 34 shots and the RedHawks got a goal from Bryon Paulazzo and the OT winner was supplied by Jimmy Mullin. North Dakota 4, Colorado College 3: Rylan Schwartz had another hat trick but it wasn’t enough as the Sioux managed to notch their first sweep of the year. The Sioux’s top line of Brock Nelson, Danny Kristo and Corban Knight each had a goal in the win. Alaska 2, Bowling Green 0: Scott Greenham only needed 16 saves for his shutout and the Nanooks got goals from Adam Henderson and Cody Kunyk for the win over BG. North Dakota 7, Colorado College 6: Both teams played their starter and their backup, and Brad Eidsness was the only of the four to not give up a goal. Mercyhurst 3, Air Force 2: The Falcons got two goals from Tim Kirby but it wasn’t enough to come back from the 3-0 hole as Max Strang made 32 saves to give Mercyhurst a huge win in the Atlantic Hockey race. Nick Jones got the game winner for the Lakers. Air Force still holds a 1 point lead in Atlantic Hockey, but they have played 2 more games than Mercyhurst and Bentley. RIT 3, Air Force 1: Bryan Potts’s third and fourth goals of the year provided RIT with all of the offense it needed (thanks to Shane Malodora’s 25 saves) as RIT took down Air Force. Defenseman Tim Kirby’s first of the year was the Falcons’ lone tally.
