1. Minnesota Duluth (14-3-3) (10-2-2) Duluth is on a 16 game unbeaten streak, and they’re undefeated on the road this year. But most impressive has been the play of Kenny Reiter, whose .919 save percentage in conference play ranks 2nd in the WCHA. 2. Ohio State (14-4-3) (10-3-3) All eyes will be on Cleveland this weekend, as the Buckeyes host rival Michigan at Progressive Field, the home of the Cleveland Indians. Now if only they could get Harry Doyle to announce. 3. Merrimack (11-4-4) (7-3-2) The Warriors are significantly better on the road than at home this year, but have [...]

A pair of quick notes before I get started: first, I’m in the midst of finals weeks, so posting might be a bit few and far between here for the next couple of weeks. Second, I’m keeping Merrimack at #1 because I don’t think that having the most recent loss doesn’t mean you’re not still the best team. 1. Merrimack (9-2-1) (6-2-1) No Change 2. Minnesota (13-4-1) (10-2-0) Up 2 3. Ohio State (12-3-1) (9-2-1) Up 2 4. Minnesota-Duluth (11-3-2) (9-2-1) Up 2 5. Boston College (11-5-0) (8-3-0) Down 1

1. Merrimack (8-0-1) (6-0-1) No Change The Warriors currently sit at 8 wins. To show how far this program has come, they only had 6 wins all season in Mark Dennehy’s first year at the helm. 2. Minnesota (10-2-0) (7-1-0) No Change The Gophers have 14 points in their first 8 WCHA games, the first time they have won 7 of their first 8 WCHA games since 1990. 3. Colorado College (5-2-0) (3-2-0) No Change After allowing a single goal in three of the team’s first four games, CC has given up 7 and 5 in two of the last [...]

1. Merrimack (7-0-1) (5-0-1) Up 4 They’re the only undefeated team right now, and as INCH notes, have outshot every team they have played. Sounds like the best team in America to me. 2. Minnesota (9-1-0) (6-0-0) Up 2 For the record, I don’t think the Gophers are the best team in the country, but I certainly wouldn’t call them undeserving of the #1 spot. It would be interesting to compare this team to the 07-08 team which I had ranked #1 early in the year but ended up missing the NCAA tournament. 3. Colorado College (5-1-0) (3-1-0) Down 2 [...]
